"I've used pricier hooks and cheaper ones, but I just love how this one feels. The thumbrest makes it feel like it was made for my hand specifically."

a flat thumbrest keeps your hook exactly where you want it

The hook stays oriented in your hand and stable when you set it down. (No more chasing round hooks across the table.)

ergonomic all the way to the tip

A shorter shaft keeps your hand closer to the work. The deliberately balanced handle feels like an extension of your hand, not a lever to control.

"My hand isn't aching after using it for a few hours."
— Kelly H.

we had a
doctor look at it

"A lot of hand strain in a long session can come from constantly gripping to control the hook. This hook's thumb rest is shaped and placed so the hand settles into one position instead of working for control, letting the hold stay more neutral and relaxed."

Dr. Adele Meron, musculoskeletal physician and fiber crafter

hand polished to a liquid-glass finish

Artist-grade resin. Cured, then polished for a finish that holds its smoothness for years. Once you experience this glide, every other hook will feel like work.

"The yarn glide is hands-down the smoothest I've ever experienced."
— Fabi G.

pointed enough to go where other hooks can't

An intentionally shaped tip with just enough point to be nimble in even the trickiest circumstances. (Slip stitch ribbing, we're looking at you.)

"The pointed tip is so nice to get into tighter loops."
— Taylor A.

never guess your hook size again

Each size is etched right into the handle, not printed on top. It won't wear off, smudge, or leave you holding a mystery hook. (We've all dug through a project bag wondering.)

from a longtime
clover loyalist

"For the past several years, I've used only Clover Amour hooks, so I wasn't expecting to find something I liked even more. I've owned Furls hooks before and never enjoyed them, so I was skeptical. But this hook is incredibly lightweight, the thumb rest is amazing, and it glides through my stitches. It has quickly become one of my favorites."

- Emily I.

batch 002: afterhours

The day belongs to everyone else.

The night belongs to you.

When the house goes quiet, the work you actually want to do begins.

The chair by the lamp. The yarn. The row you've been waiting all day to reach.

Our Afterhours colorway honors that same time of day. A navy sky, lit from below. Pink, violet, and cool blue moving through the dark.

why I developed
this hook

I've been crocheting for over 35 years. In that time, I've taught thousands of students, designed hundreds of patterns, and spent more hours with a hook in my hand than I could ever count.

And for most of those years, I did what every crocheter does: I compromised. No single hook had it all, so I settled for "close enough" depending on the project and where my hands hurt that day.

But I kept coming back to one thing: crochet isn't just a hobby for most of us. It's how we decompress, feel creative, and take care of ourselves. And if your hands and wrists can't keep up, all that goodness goes away. As makers, our hands are our biggest asset, and they deserve tools that are actually worthy of the craft we love.

So eventually, I stopped settling. I designed the hook I always wished existed, tested dozens of prototypes myself, then put them in the hands of real crocheters and listened to their feedback. I kept reworking until we had a design that felt as good as it looked.

I hope you love using them as much as I do.

frequently asked
questions

Why is this hook $30?

The plastic hook has the right shape but the wrong glide. The metal one has a thumbrest but the wrong tip. The pretty one looks great on a shelf but feels wrong in your hand.

We built this hook so you don't have to pick. Pointed tip, liquid-glass glide, flat thumbrest, etched size markings that won't rub off — and every one hand-poured from artist-grade resin, swirled, cured, and polished by hand. It's a process that takes days per batch and can't be automated. Which is also why no two are alike.

Every hook comes with a wooden-capped display tube, free US shipping on sets of 3+, and 30 days to decide it's right for your hands. (Bundle three or more and the per-hook price drops to $23.)

"No question: The BEST crochet hook that I have ever used. The difference is in the details: the depth of the hook, the shape of the handle, the just-so-perfect point."
— Natasha G.

Is this right for knife grip or pencil grip?

Both. The thumb rest sits where your thumb naturally lands either way, so the hook stays oriented whether you're holding it like a knife or a pencil. We tested with crocheters across both grips before we finalized the shape.

Does this work for left-handed crocheters?

Yes. The hook is symmetrical, so the thumb rest works the same in either hand. Crochet on, lefties.

I have arthritis or hand pain. Will this help?

A lot of our testers said yes, but every hand is different and we can't promise a specific outcome. What we can tell you is the intentional design decisions we made:

  • a wider contoured handle to ease your grip
  • a shorter shaft so your wrist doesn't need to work as hard to stay in control
  • a thumb rest that keeps the hook oriented so you're not making hundreds of tiny corrections per session

Less work for your hand, more crocheting.

If it's not the relief you hoped for, you have 30 days to send it back.
